the power of prayer

Scripture tells us that God hears and answers our prayers. If we've learned anything in the 100 years of doing God's work here at Union Mission, it's that we only exist because of our Heavenly Father's blessing upon our work here.

Consider joining our Prayer Team or for more general prayer opportunities, we offer the following suggestions to guide your time with God.

Pray for:

  • The women and children at Brookside
that they would learn the life management skills necessary to live independently; that they would remain healthy and safe from abusive husbands and boyfriends
  • The men at Crossroads and in Foundations
that they would take responsibility for themselves, turn away from drug and alcohol addictions, and develop a healthy work ethic
  • The men, women, and children counseled in Family Services
that they would find the assistance they need at the mission; that God would see them safely through the crisis they are facing; that they would develop healthy money management skills
  • The hungry people fed through the Outreach Ministry
that enough food would be available to meet their needs, and that they would be interested in hearing about salvation through Christ
  • That all of these hurting people would accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and turn to Him daily for the strength to go on

For our staff members, pray for:

  • wisdom and love in dealing with the needy
  • their health since they often deal with unhealthy people
  • their spouses and children

For the administration and board of directors, pray for wisdom and faith in making important decisions.

For the mission’s finances, pray for:

  • guidance that the mission would continue to find new ways of saving money
  • donations that would be sufficient to cover rising expenses
  • the administrators would be good stewarts of God's gifts

Above all, pray that God would be glorified and His will done in all that goes on at Union Mission!
