Union Mission: Serving Hope

TWhen people come through the doors at Union Mission, they’re often sick, hungry, tired, afraid and lonely. They come to Crossroads and Brookside because they have no home, no support and no family. They have no hope that tomorrow will be better.

At Union Mission, we give hope through action and deed. We offer hope to the mom struggling to feed her children, to the man who lost his job and to the addict desperately needing recovery. Regardless, we let them know we care and they are not forgotten.

Throughout the year, Union Mission serves over 75,000 meals and provides over 23,000 nights of safe shelter to the homeless and hungry. We also offer addiction recovery programs for men and women. All are a part of the Union Mission family. As we prepare for the holiday season, it takes hundreds of volunteers, additional financial support and months to collect enough food for the task ahead.

In addition to regular services offered throughout the year, during the next sixty days Union Mission plans to:

  • Serve over 500 Thanksgiving meals to the homeless.
  • Provide Thanksgiving food baskets for 40,000 people through 38 outreach sites in 19 West Virginia counties.
  • Serve over 400 Christmas meals to the homeless
  • Provide Christmas food baskets for 40,000 people
  • Provide 90 families with Christmas gifts through the Adopt A Family Program.
  • Distribute over 2,000 toys to needy children.

As we feed thousands both physically and spiritually, this isn’t possible without caring people like you. You demonstrate God’s love in tangible life-changing ways.
